When
I was a little girl, my father and I would take long walks down the country
road that led to our cottage in Worthington, Massachusetts.
With his right hand on my shoulder, I would guide him away from rocks
and fallen branches, and we would talk about the natural beauty that surrounded
us.
I was his eyes… he could not see. From his "vision of life," however, I learned many things. I learned about perseverance and courage, the importance of relationships, and the beauty of language.
A poet himself, he taught me that words can evoke tremendous emotion. They can heal us, inspire us, delight us, and comfort us in our darkest times.
To my father, James F. Barrett, I dedicate all of my efforts, and in his memory I continue do that which I love…in hopes that my words will find the pathway to your heart, and to the hearts of all those who will take just a moment to read.
